Our History
EVA of Ohio was founded in 2017 as Drive Electric Dayton by electric vehicle owners who wanted to help people in the Dayton region discover more about the financial, health, and performance benefits of driving electric.
The chapter attracted members and local business sponsors as a result of the hundreds of EV education events, including ride-and-drive programs EVA of Ohio has sponsored or participated in with schools, community groups, and local businesses and governments.

We’re among the largest EVA chapters in the United States. National and state organizations such as EVA, Plug In America, Black Environmental Leaders, the National League of Cities, and the Sustainable Ohio Public Energy Council have honored EVA of Ohio for our outstanding EV education programs and community involvement.
Today EVA of Ohio operates statewide, with teams of enthusiastic EV owners organizing opportunities for more Ohioans to experience how electric vehicles can help them reduce costs, protect the environment, and create jobs to power the Buckeye State for years to come.
